Product Information

Epinephrine auto injectors (Epipen® and Allerject®) are life-saving medications used for emergency treatment of severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis). The medication is administered through an auto-injector that contains a pre-measured dose of epinephrine, a hormone that helps to reverse the symptoms of anaphylaxis.

It is important to remember that the epinephrine auto injector is a temporary measure and does not replace medical attention. After using the Epipen, it is essential to seek immediate medical attention.

The epinephrine auto injector is available in two different dosages. The larger dose is intended for adults and children who weigh more than 30 kg (66 lbs), while the smaller dose is designed for children who weigh between 15 and 30 kg (33 and 66 lbs).

The active ingredient in epinephrine auto injector is epinephrine (also known as adrenaline). The auto-injector also contains sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, and sodium hydroxide as inactive ingredients.

  4. Dispose of the used auto injector properly, according to local regulations.

It is important to note that a second dose may be necessary in case of severe or prolonged allergic reaction. The auto injector should be used immediately at the first sign of anaphylaxis, and should not be used as a substitute for seeking medical attention..

Side Effects

Common side effects of auto injector use include anxiety, palpitations, rapid heart rate, sweating, nausea, and vomiting. These side effects are usually mild and short-lived, and typically resolve on their own within a few minutes. However, if you experience any severe or persistent side effects after using auto injector, seek medical attention immediately.

Less common side effects include headache, dizziness, tremors, weakness, and confusion. These side effects are usually temporary and go away on their own, but if they persist or become severe, seek medical attention.

In rare cases, auto injector use can cause more serious side effects, such as heart attack, stroke, or abnormal heart rhythms. If you experience any of these symptoms after using, seek emergency medical attention immediately.
