Here’s a quick breakdown of your new prescription:

Minoxidil and finasteride are two common medications used to treat hair loss. Minoxidil is a topical solution that is applied directly to the scalp, while finasteride is an oral or topical medication. Minoxidil works by increasing blood flow to the hair follicles, while finasteride inhibits the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that can contribute to hair loss. Both medications have been clinically proven to be effective in treating hair loss.

How to Use & Keep Using

How to Use & Keep Using

Here’s how to use the medication

The longer you keep at it, the more success you’ll see.

Use only your prescribed dose as directed.

Minoxidil:

  • Easy-to-apply twice a day formula that encourages hair growth with daily use.

  • Apply as directed by your prescriber for optimal results. Massage lightly into the affected areas of the scalp, avoiding direct application to the hair.

    • Avoid direct contact with your eyes – rinse well if contact occurs

  • Finasteride (oral):

    • Take the once daily pill as directed by your prescriber for optimal results, with or without food.

    • It can only work over the long-term if you continue taking it.

On average, healthy hair grows only about 1 cm each month. Therefore, it will take time to see any effect. In general, daily use for three months or more may be necessary before you notice that hair growth is increased, or further hair loss is prevented.
