Contraindications, warnings and drug interactions

Contraindications, warnings and drug interactions

Gravol is contraindicated if you have a personal history of glaucoma, chronic lung disease (including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lower respiratory tract symptoms), difficulty urinating due to an enlarged prostate or are allergic to dimenhydrinate or any of the other ingredients in Gravol. It is also contraindicated for children 2 years of age or younger.

Make sure you talk to your healthcare provider before using Gravol if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you have phenylketonuria or need to limit your intake of phenylalanine, you should know that Gravol Chewable Tablets contain aspartame. Aspartame is changed to phenylalanine in your stomach after you take it by mouth.

Warning: Gravol can make you feel drowsy or dizzy, so it’s important to be careful when doing activities that require concentration, such as driving or operating machinery.

Alcohol: It’s important to avoid drinking alcohol while taking Gravol, as it can make you feel more tired and sleepy than usual.

Drug interactions:

Gravol can interact with certain medications, including Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs), which are often used to treat depression. It’s important to talk to your healthcare provider or pharmacist before taking Gravol if you’re not sure if you’re taking an MAOI including the antibiotic linezolid and methylene blue. Do not take an MAOI within 2 weeks of stopping Gravol, unless advised to do so by your doctor. Gravol may also increase the effects of some other medications that include those used to help you sleep (such as barbiturates, sedatives and hypnotics), reduce tension or anxiety (such as tranquilizers), or treat depression. Thus caution must be taken to avoid an overdose. If you’re taking any of these medications or if you’re not sure, contact your healthcare provider or pharmacist before taking Gravol.

Real people, real results

”The program has stopped my bored snacking - I used to have trouble saying no to treats during the work day and after dinner. Now I’m better able to manage my appetite, and combined with starting to go to the gym and being more careful about what I eat at meals, I’m losing about one pound a week. I’m thinking this is the last diet I’m going to have to do. Hopefully ever.”

E.S., 34, York

"I've lost 30 lbs in the past two months while on the program. It's really easy to inject (and doesn't hurt) and it has completely curbed my cravings. Now I eat to fuel myself. Another 70 lbs to go but I'm feeling excited about my weight loss for the first time."
