Valuable information and resources are available with your Saxenda® DIN.
Saxenda® is an injection with a very small needle (like a pinprick) taken daily. Saxenda is the brand name of liraglutide which is a type of drug known as a GLP-1 receptor agonist.
It works by helping the pancreas release a controlled amount of hormones, which slows the rate of food leaving the stomach, leaving you fuller for longer. This helps prevent overeating and hunger pangs.
Saxenda is used for weight control, by controlling your appetite and slowing the rate that food leaves your stomach.
Inject 1 dose of Saxenda once a day into the fat of your upper arm, abdomen, or thigh.

Yes, to be eligible for the program you must be willing and able to take one of the four medications we may prescribe.
Generally, it is recommended that clients that start with medications should stay on the medication for six months to a year to stabilize before coming off of medication. There is no set date to stop the medication, but in the clinical trials studying these treatments, the medications were taken for 1 year. After 1 year, some people may choose to continue to take the medications. Our medical team can help you transition to a maintenance program once you achieve your health goals.
Once you’ve completed your blood work and met with our team, they’ll determine which medication (if any) is appropriate for you. At that point, we’ll make sure we have your insurance information and then process the order. Once submitted, you can expect your delivery within 2-5 days.
You’ll be provided with a tracking number so you can verify where your order is. Easy!
Some benefits and insurance plans will cover a portion of your treatment cost, and most will cover the support fee as it covers your consultations with dietitians and other experts. We double-check what’s covered for you before processing payments, so you know upfront how much the program will cost. Any consults with our experts, like dietitians, outside of the baseline care of the program will often be covered by your insurance.
We can provide the drug identification numbers to you so you can look up whether your specific plan covers them – send us an email hello@jackhealth.ca
Some insurance plans include an HSA – health spendings account. This account can cover a wide variety of health spending including step counters and health trackers, consultations with dietitians or health coaches, and even personal training.
Depends on the medication you are prescribed.
Medications start at $300 per month. The drug manufacturers often have patient support promotions that can be applied to assist with this monthly cost as well. We’ll check to see what is available for you and will apply any discounts to the drug cost.
Each customer will be charged a one time fee of $89 for initial diagnosis, bloodwork review by a Nurse Practitioner and insurance processing. Going forward for each month, customers will be charged $59/month for ongoing support from a team of practitioners as well as access to live sessions and personalized toolkits. This cost also covers medication delivery straight to your door.
All patients are put on a three-month subscription. After the first three months, you’ll decide whether you’d like to continue on the medication.
